Last Day of Consultation tomorrow

The Public Consultation on the new plans for the village hall have been on display in a marquee near the Bridge Inn today and your last chance to see them will be tomorrow (Thursday) 3 till 8 pm.  There is an excellent display of the plans, plus 3d views of the hall and gardens including a clever cut-away view showing the inside and layout of the hall minus the roof!  Even more impressive is the video our architect Simon Woodford has had showing on a large screen in one corner, giving you a ‘walk-through’ of the building and out into the surrounding area.  There are also displays of funding ideas and logo options, which we’d like your comments on too.

We’ve had a lot of people there today, with most people focusing on the hall itself and things like its capacity and the facilities and what they’d like to include as activities (some of which the hall won’t hold, like badminton).  There’s a lot of discussion on car parking and access, and we wondered whether some traffic calming measures might be needed on the road in.  There is also some concern about the traffic coming out after an event and whether it will cause problems with people turning into the Fakenham Road.

We also have experts here to talk about the housing mix and how people will be able to get to rent the affordable housing and how tenants will be selected.  There is a form that you can fill in if you know of someone who would be interested in renting or part owning one of these properties.  There are also comment forms for you to add your comments!

We’re hoping to include some of the pictures and plans here after the consultation closes and there is a possibility we can link to the video walk-through via YouTube, so watch this space.  You will also be able to add further comments via these pages.

Hope you can get along to the Bridge Inn area on Thursday, 3 till 8 pm.
