Summary of a Trustee Meeting on 22nd November 2011

This is a summary of the regular meeting of the Trustees. The full minutes are confidential. This summary is posted for your interest and information only.

In attendance: Chris & Heidi Cate, Norman Wright, Jacky Pett, Kerry Burchinshaw

  • The request for more flats in the consultation: only 2 flats will be built.
  • Lovells happy to underwrite the survey costs at this time.
  • New Years Party cannot be arranged this year.
  • Jubilee tree planting scheme –  free packs are available. Agreed to proceed.
  • Gift Aid/Co-op Bank paperwork completed.
  • BIG Reaching Communities: we are now eligible again, but total project cost is £750K. Start activities and first year running costs could usefully be included.
  • Discussion about the fundraising campaign. Decided that a £10 minimum donation for a brick was appropriate.  Strategies for approaching major donors was discussed.
  • At PC meeting David Sayer was concerned that we had not used his facilities or been seen to do any fundraising. Norman pointed out his kind offer had been discussed and we were looking tentatively at a function there in 2012 & also outlined the events held in 2011. Suggested approaching David and asking if he would do a Charity horse ride for the village hall.
  • Wendy Hamilton, Outreach coordinator for Royal Mail suggested a limited service is run alongside other services going on in the hall.
  • Chris was contacted by Secretary of Lingwood VH suggesting our plans have 10% of storage of what they would need. Reviewing this with architects.
  • Next Meeting dates: 6th December – Jacky and Kerry; strategy meeting at BDC;  10th January – Trustee meeting with key project members to approve plan revisions post consultation and pre planning application.
