Want to plant some trees?

The Woodland Trust is aiming to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by planting thousands of new trees. One of the things they are doing is offering community groups free saplings. Now this would fit in beautifully with our new hall if we could get some of those to plant in November 2012.
What the Woodland Trust says is:
Designed to help make planting with your local community as easy as possible, the packs are available in two sizes – either 105 trees or 420 trees – and are themed to help you choose the best mix for your local area.
- Wildlife: Blackthorn, hawthorn, hazel, birch, rowan, oak
- Year-round colour: Hawthorn, hazel, birch, rowan, cherry, dogwood
- Wood fuel: Ash, birch, cherry, oak, hornbeam
- Wild harvest: Hazel, blackthorn, crab apple, elder, dog rose
All packs also include a special royal sapling, grown from tree seeds collected on royal estates such as Sandringham and Windsor.
There is some interest in tree-planting as one of our fundraising activities, so they could also be sponsored trees. They could be mainly around the hall but also around the parish – wherever they are needed.
Which pack do you think we should apply for?

The Year-round Colour pack has received the most support. It would add a little variety into the existing mainly blackthorn and oak, so no need for the wildlife one as this pack adds the ones the wildlife one would too.
We are looking to strengthen the hedges on either side of the site (the back is quite dense enough) and add feature plants to the site. We also hope to improve the wildlife corridor from north to south along the western hedge and also east to west along the public footpath at the back by planting more trees in the adjacent field in partnership with the landowner.
